PCC (Beriplex) is used to reverse oral anticoagulation and issued only after approval by HOW, bleep 922 (Warfarin Reversal Protocol CG408). The dose depends on the patient's weight, INR result and presence of life threatening bleeding. The maximum dose that can be administered is 5000 units.

Following approval of PCC by the HOW, the Transfusion laboratory should be contacted and following details given:-
A “How to give PCC Guide” will be sent with the PCC by the Transfusion Laboratory. For sustained reversal of anticoagulant 5mg I.V vitamin K should also be given.
The Patient Blood Management Committee will monitor the use of PCC.
