Preservation of samples in SST tubes ONLY is possible via spinning. Such samples need to be spun to preserve their integrity for useful results to be obtained if there is likely to be a delay in sending to the laboratory for analysis. The tubes should be spun @2500 rpm for 10 minutes.
The SST (Serum Separating Tube) tubes are sometimes referred to as beige top as their caps are beige coloured and are generally used for biochemistry tests. Please ensure you use suitable “buckets” to retain the tubes during spinning to prevent damage/ breakage.
